On January 27th 2022, 25 students were able to attend a Printing on Fabrics Museum of Mulhouse tour along with the ENSCMulticolore organization. While they visited the museum, they learnt more about the industrial history of Mulhouse and its connection to chemistry. They could also ask questions about different dyes that they saw.
Actually, the ENSCMulticolore organization’s work is about giving a new life to the impressive collection of dyes belonging to ENSCMu. Due to its past, related to textile industry and the training of chemists specialized in dyeing as soon as the nineteenth century, the school has gathered more than 4500 dyeing samples and 1000 documents of this period, which were for a long time unknown to many people. The goal of the ENSCMulticolore organization is to classify, sort, revitalize and analyse dyes so that this heritage is more known to a general audience.
